Dry eye disease.  Essential Fatty Acids (Omega-6 & Omega-3) have been a mainstay for ocular health and dry eye disease for many years.  In the past I have recommended EPA/DHA, Omega 3 derivatives from fish oil, as the main ingredient in my formula.  Now due to recent studies such as the DREAM study which show no effect between fish oil and the placebo and because of some side effects from fish oil such as increased blood sugar, thinning skin etc.  I have revised my recommendation. There have been good results of relief from dry eye disease with Omega-6 and Omega-3 from pure, organic, unadulterated seed oils. In my research to solve dry eye disease, I have come upon what I’d consider the Elixir of the Holy Grail:  Essential Fatty Acids.  Omega-6 is involved with the structure of every cell membrane which is the gatekeeper to cellular metabolism. It is also part of the mitochondria which are the powerhouses of the cell.  Even the hormones that circulate and control our organs is controlled by it.  Disease and ageing have a major component; that is inflammation.  PG1 is the most powerful anti-inflammatory in the body and it is found in GLA, a derivative of LA, the parent Omega-6.  Among the most abundant sources of this is in the seed oils Black Cumin, Hemp, Borage, Grape, Black Raspberry, and Evening Primrose.  The National Health Federation has just published my article on this called the “Famine of Omega-6https://www.holygrailomega6.com.
